Dr. Derek W. McCranie, M.D.
General Surgeon
Dr. McCranie is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in advanced minimally invasive, robotic-assisted, laparoscopic, and traditional open surgical techniques. He provides comprehensive surgical care for a wide range of conditions, with expertise in hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, appendectomy, colon and colorectal procedures, breast surgery, vascular access procedures, and other general surgical conditions. He is also highly skilled in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy.
A Florida native, Dr. McCranie was born and raised in Okeechobee, Florida where he previously worked as a general surgeon. He earned both his undergraduate degree and medical degree from the Florida State University. He completed his surgical training at WellStar Health System in Atlanta, GA, where he developed a strong foundation in patient-centered care and surgical excellence.
Throughout his training and career, Dr. McCranie has gained extensive experience in acute care surgery, trauma management, and complex surgical decision-making. His commitment to clinical excellence, safety, and innovation allows him to provide personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.

Dr. Sanskriti "Sunny" Sharma, M.D.
Gastroenterologist
Dr. Sanskriti “Sunny” Sharma is a gastroenterologist dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care for patients with digestive and liver disorders. She specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), liver disease, colorectal cancer screening, and disorders of the stomach, esophagus, pancreas, and intestines. Dr. Sharma completed internal medicine residency at WellStar Health System in Atlanta, GA before moving to Miami, FL for gastroenterology fellowship.
A native of Englewood, Florida, Dr. Sharma is proud to return to Southwest Florida to serve the community she has always called home. She believes in building lasting relationships with her patients through attentive listening, personalized treatment plans, and evidence-based care. Her goal is to help patients achieve optimal digestive health while ensuring they feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their healthcare journey.
Dr. Sharma is committed to preventive medicine and early detection, with a special emphasis on colorectal cancer screening and helping patients maintain long-term gastrointestinal wellness. Her special interests include general gastroenterology, obesity & nutrition, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and women’s health. She combines the latest advances in gastroenterology with a patient-centered approach to deliver exceptional care tailored to each individual's needs.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Sharma enjoys reading, traveling, spending time at the beach, and making memories with family and friends.
